IDK Weather I'll Do It or Not

Weather can affect the learning process for a lot of people. Obviously, with inclimate weather such as the snow that has plagued Richmond the past few weeks it poses a problem students missing classes. True some teachers put the assignments on Blackboard or they email it to you or whatever, but problems appear when whether or not the assignment gets done rides on whether technology is working for you or you simply find the will to do the task on your own. Maybe you find yourself stuck in your house with no power. If the assignment is clearly communicated to you in time you can be stuck doing nothing simply because you don’t know what to do.
Just a flip of thought; how about those who choose to take their classes online. Yes, the snow won’t bother you as long as you have kept your power or have a generator or some way to get to a computer, but how about when it’s sunny and seventy degrees out and all your buddies are in town. Suddenly the weather is enticing you not to finish your work; you go out and have a good time, and you now have a lower grade in your class.
Personally I would never take a class online for precisely that reason. I don’t trust myself to follow up with online work which brings me to a very important point. When weather traps people out of school, it becomes up to the student to learn material and apply it to his work and this is exactly what many students avoid because they know that they won’t do what they need to unless they are placed in the learning environment that school provides for them.
